Digital Transformation as a Panacea for Enhanced Accounting Practices in Tertiary Institutions. A study of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro

Abstract: The objective is to examine the impact of digital transformation on accounting practices in Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. This study adopts a descriptive research design to systematically investigate the impact of digital transformation on accounting practices, by focusing on technologies such as big data analytics, cloud-based accounting software, and artificial intelligence. A mixed-methods approach was utilized, combining quantitative data and qualitative. The research utilised primary data from 38 accounting practitioners and administrative staffs involved in digital accounting practices at the institution which was also the sample size. Data was analyzed using statistical methods, including descriptive and inferential statistics for quantitative data. The study clearly shows digital transformation is shaking up accounting practices at Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. The study recommends that investing in solid training and the right infrastructure for Big Data Analytics would help make decisions more data-driven.
